I was pretty much overcome with joy (for realsies) when I read in the Times this weekend that a revival of Bye Bye Birdie is opening on Broadway this week.  Despite, or perhaps because of, how old-fashioned it is, Birdie is one of my favorite musicals of all time.
When I saw the headline I demanded that everyone change out of their pjs and get immediately into the car for an impromptu, all-family roadtrip.  Luckily, when the parental unit didn’t snap to I read the first paragraph of the article and discovered it wasn’t playing yet.
But MARK MY WORDS.  I will be in NY before that play closes.  And much, much sooner if I have my way.  Mark ‘em.  (via)

Yeah, that’s John Stamos and Gina Gershon you see.  No, they don’t temper my joy even a little.
